Advanced Open Water Course

This course is the next step in diver progression from the Open Water course. It is focused on divers who want to continue their diving education and build the skills and knowledge to perform more challenging dives while staying within recreational limits.

During this course, students will participate in six to eight hours of course discussion. During this discussion, we will go into greater detail about dive planning, gas planning, team diving concepts, communication, and situational awareness. In addition to the PADI course materials, I have also prepared supplemental reading to help increase your diving knowledge.

This class will consist of a minimum of five dives over two days. These dives will focus on gas consumption, buoyancy control, trim, propulsion techniques, situational awareness, team positioning and problem solving. In addition, you will learn navigation skills, dive planning for deep dives, basic wreck diving concerns and other skills needed for diving in the Chicago and Great Lakes areas.

The tuition for this class is $400. Included in the tuition costs for the class are your course materials and certification fees.

This is a comprehensive course for divers who are serious about improving their diving skills that are not found in traditional AOW course offerings.

Please view my Calendar for course offerings. This class may also be run by appointment.
