There is one question I dread answering the most from prospective students. That question is, “What is the price of xyz class?“. The reason why I hate that question is because I know what the next question is, at least 90% of the time. That next question usually is “Why are your prices so much higher than xxx?” Then I typically will give my elevator speech about my classes and how I price them out. I’d like to share with you something. About 90% of all of my new students come to me saying the same thing. The story goes like this. They took their open water class at local dive store XYZ. After their class, they didn’t feel like they could conduct scuba dives without the supervision of an instructor. When they talked to the kid behind the counter, he told them they needed to take the Advanced Open Water course to fill in the gaps. After taking the AOW course, the student still doesn’t feel any safer. They are on the verge of quitting diving. Then they find me. One thing I do well is to give customers what they want. Scuba Instructors – Doing Your On-Line Presence Right

A while ago, I wrote a post that was an easy way to market your scuba diving instruction. Certainly, that will be the biggest and best way to market yourself. However, that may not be enough. If you are an independent scuba diving instructor, you will have to move up into the 21st century and have an on-line presence. You can be on Facebook, Twitter, or whatever else is out there.
